Girls At Play.TV Photoshoot in Cape Town

While in Cape Town  I met with Tracy-Lee Rosslind, the uber creative stylist & art director behind Girls At Play.Tv. I was so excited to meet this lovely lady I have know over twitter, instagram, facebook etc & was even more pleased to see that she is even more dynamic in person! This shoot literally came together over night with this amazing bunch of creatives! And a special thanks to Jane of Portobello Road whose clothes I am wearing in this shoot. If you have never been to Portobello Road, I suggest you pay them a visit - I was pleasantly surprised by this CT gem (we don't have anything like this in Durban so it was such a lovely change for me).

What do you guys think of the shoot? These are just a few of my favorite shots. I actually think I am going to get a few of them printed & framed for my home :)

Selfie Photoshoot & My NEW Skirt

 I actually haven't done any shopping here in China until now. And I'm not sure this counts as shopping as it is only 1 piece of clothing, but when I saw this skirt I was like YES!!! Don't mind my little selfie photoshoot -  a girl's gotta do what a girl gotta do! That's the sad thing about being alone is that you don't have someone taking your picture! Lucky for self-timers or I would've died!

Photographer OBSSESSION: Terry Richardson

Terry Richardson with Jared Leto.

Terry Richardson is an international celebrity as well as one of the most prolific and compelling photographers of his generation. Known for his uncanny ability to cut to the raw essence of whomever appears before his lens, Mr. Richardson's vision is at once humorous, tragic, often beautiful, and always provocative.

The New York native has shot for major fashion magazines, French Vogue & Harper's Bazaar. And let's not forget all the celebrities, models & designers he has shot too: Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld, Jay Z, Jared Leto (pictured above) & Kate Moss to name a few.

My favourite photographs are the ones where Terry has his subject put on his glasses & imitate him.

Rihanna: You Da One Video

It's no secret that I am in love with Rihanna. And so naturally when her new video for "You Da One" was released, I was all over it. Have to say I love. Duh! And you also know of my love for photography too. Well, there is one particular shot in the music video that I was like " I want a photograph of me in that exact position " This is the shot below. I'm not crazy right?! You want it too?

I absolutely love the sexy, sultry nature of this photoshoot entitled "Siren Song" by photographer Michael David Adams. The Photoshop effect used in the photographs, paired with 2 super beautiful models makes for a sexy day at the beach. LOVE!!!

HOT Editorials: VOGUE Japan December 2011

Now you've got to know that I'm an absolute sucker for uber hot fashion editorials. And Joan Smalls for Japanese Vogue is no exception. I absolutely love it! Model Joan Smalls in �Forgiving Wilderness� is nestled among tress and nature Joan wears Roberto Cavalli, Emilio Pucci, Haider Ackermann and more. The photoshoot was photographed by S�lve Sundsbo, and styled by George Cortina. Well done!

HOT Photoshoot: Invitation ONLY by Mariah Jelena

Lingerie, blindfolds, masks and tuxedo jackets. If the grand setting of winding staircases, opulent tiling and pillared halls doesn�t send your mind careening back to Stanley Kubrick�s 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut, then perhaps the styling by Andrew Zumbo will. It does for me, anyway. There�s a subtle fetishism to Mariah Jelena�s shoot, titled Invitation Only. Twin models Maddie and Thierney are mirror images of each other which adds a lightly surreal twist to the scenario; and you�re given the feeling that this invitation-only party is one populated by uniform sensual blondes, there to be seen not heard.

This is a super hot shoot. My love for all things creative has truly opened my eyes to much out there. I could easily have any of these on the walls in my home. Hope you enjoyed this!

Doll Me Up Photoshoot

I absolutely love working on photo shoots, especially concept shoots. This shoot in particular was even more fun because I got to work with 5 lovely models, a fabulous make-up artist, and an awesome photographer :)
The make-up was done by KissNMakeup and photography by Lee Folkard Photography, and styling of course by me :)

The concept for the Doll Me Up photoshoot was to have the girls look like dolls, or rather Barbies ( And you know I'm a fan of Barbie ). And so, this had to be illustrated through clothing, make-up and poses. And as usual, there was a twist in the form of an evil, Gothic doll. This was fun to work into the shoot.

 

When I thought of what the models should be wearing, I immediately saw tutus in my head. Simple, but fun & youthful. I accessorised with colourful plastic jewellery, tiaras and wands. The Gothic doll also wore a tutu, excpet hers was black rather than a pastel colour. The black tutu was paired with a bustier rather than a white vest. The look was accessorised with lots of rings and a rosary.

For the second look, I thought of something a lot more casual, much like the Barbie Basics Collection 002. You cant go wrong with jeans and a white vest.

The other looks were swimwear and a formal / smart-casual look.
