Valentines Outfit Idea:Colour-Block Dress

Dress (Pretty Please) | Bag (Mr Price) | Platforms (Plum @ Zando)

This dress is the star of today's outfit post!! I love the combination of lilac & peach in this color block dress & I actually think it compliments my skin tone quite well :) I decided on neutral accessories as the dress is the focus of the look, but I couldn't resist my Rimmel lipstick "Firecracker".  It's been so hot & humid in Durban lately, this dress was such a savior as its so light & makes you instantly feel cool.

This dress is perfect for a casual date, picnic or a lunch / breakfast date on Valentines Day. The colors are on trend, & the silhouette is flattering. If you haven't checked out the Pretty Please website, you absolutely must. They're a local online shop, that stocks women's clothes & accessories. A great place to look for Valentines Day outfits don't ya think?! And PS... They offer FREE DELIVERY too!! Yep I know that has you sold :)

Let me know what you think of today's look by commenting below!
I look forward to hearing from you lovelies!
And don't forget to FOLLOW!

I don't do fashion. I AM FASHION.

Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.

? Coco Chanel

I couldn't agree more with Mademoiselle Chanel. There's something strange and powerful about black-and-white imagery. I absolutely love wearing graphic black-and-white. Even black-and-white movies have something oh so special about them. Even if the actual movie isn't that great. It still looks good. So, in protest of Valentines Day ( I did not have a Valentine ), I decided to wear black & white. I quite liked the look. What do you think?

Polo-Neck Sweater ( Woolworth's)
Striped Skirt ( Mr Price )
Opaque Tights ( Woolworth's )
Platform Pumps ( Sexy with Attitude @ YDE )
Cross Necklace ( Diva )
Square Earrings ( Diva )
Ring ( Diva )

Hope you had a lovely Valentines Day!

Poetry in the month of LOVE

Now more than any time of the year do we find ourselves 'feeling the love', in every sense of the saying. For those in love, they are celebrating, expressing, & enjoying love. For those who are heartbroken, they hate love & everything it stands for. And for those hopeful few, well they yearn for the love of another.

I have loved poetry ever since I can remeber. And even though I forget about my love for it, every now & then I am reminded just how much it means to me. I came across a poetry book that was gifted to me by someone who meant a great deal in my life. The poem dedicated to me in the book was none other than a sonnet by Elizabeth Barret Browning. A true classic. If you dont know the peom, here it is:

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every days
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhoods faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death

You know, I do not believe that anyone can truly say that they understand exactly what Barrett was trying to express through this poem. But I simply love how it is organized in perfect form with progression and movement! And yet not constricted in any way by which to suffocate the essence of its beauty. This is writing of the English language at its best!

The passion she has for her significant other is felt in every word of the poem. To love someone so deeply that they embody everything that is you. To love someone for the sake of love itself, and not for praise. That is pure and honest. To love another to your grave, and know that it will continue for all eternity. That is love.

I hope you have enjoyed that. I certainly did!
