It's official, and the date has been set. Joburg Fashion Week will run from 15-19 February 2011. African Fashion International Chairperson Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe announced that Joburg Fashion Week will take an entirely new direction for 2011. Top industry player, Jan Malan of Umzingeli has been recruited by AFI in order to create a platform that transcends the clich� of a �South African Fashion Week�.
Venues for the various shows include The Bus Factory and The Rand Club. David Tlale will close the week on the Nelson Mandela Bridge. Other designers participating include Errol Arendz and Suzaan Heyns. Well, judging by the venues alone...Im sure it will be anything but cliche.
