Black Leather Season

All over my favorite winter catwalks and all over my wish list. The return of leather is exactly what we had been waiting for n'es-ce pas? I'm so excited about pencil skirts, dresses, pants and coats in this luxurious material that I'm already preparing my wallet. In this case, I would recommend to opt for new exciting silhouettes to be paired with lace, silk or why not, some more leather!

Not your Ordinary Skirt

The statement skirt is my obsession du jour. Love them when paired with a white shirt and the right attitude. Tip: Pick an unexpected hue or go for an unusual texture.

Loving Balmain

I just love this brand. Pierre Balmain founded his Parisian fashion powerhouse in 1945, and dressed such style icons as Ava Gardner and Brigitte Bardot. And after his death in 1982, a slew of designers including Oscar de la Renta took the helm, and the label is now under the creative leadership of Christophe Decarnin. The master of tough luxe, Balmain is the cool girl's destination for ornately embellished outerwear and spray-on leather pants.

Here are some pictures from Balmain's Fall 2011 Ready-To-Wear collection in Milan.

Loving the loosened-up silhouettes of this
fashion house's signature mini dresses.

I heart this skirt. Would die for it :)

This look is head-to-toe fabulous!

Loving this metallic leather peaked-lapel

All I have to say is "Keep it coming"

THIS JUST IN

I just heard a rumor: Christophe Decarnin was fired from Balmain. If this is true, who do you think might replace him? Any ideas? After his A/W 2011-12 show, the only feeling I was left with was that it was time to move on from the same silhouettes and materials, but who could have possibly imagined...let's see what happens. I know for a fact, that many rumors have sparked after he didn't bow at the end of his show in Paris, but this one came from a trusted source...

Bulgari Hotel, Milan

I haven't been able to stop looking at this picture.  The head accessory, the jackets, everything about it makes me want to go shopping! Balmain shoulders are definitely still everywhere and even though I thought they would be over by next season, I'm kind of glad they're still around.
